Blazing Thru
the Appalachian Trail

Designed by a long-distance hiker for both hikers and gamers.

In the role of backpackers, players follow white blazes from Georgia to Maine as they visit Appalachian Trail locations, use Gear, encounter Wildlife, and live through Experiences and Weather on their path to reaching the opposite Terminus.

Blazing Thru the Appalachian Trail is played by going through a Trail deck one State at a time, each player taking two turns per State. In a turn, they plan their hike (draw a card from the Planner) and then hike (play a card from their hand, score it, and take its action). Gear cards may be used at any time during a player's turn; Gear helps draw or play extra cards or avoid difficulties during a hike.

The object of the game is to be the hiker with the most valuable experience (determined by points) at the end of the game, awarded during the game by Trail & Wildlife cards and State Bonuses. After the final State, add points from Premium Gear to determine the winner!

This includes both South and North sets as well as a bandana gamemat in the color of your choice. The bandana can be used with either set.
For 1–4 players.

Bandana GAMemat

A blue bandana gamemat to match the South set or a green bandana to match the North. These make game setup easy and eliminate the extra cards for the Score Tracker and Resupply.

(Either bandana can be used with either set and fit in either game box.)

COMPONENT uPGRADE

To add to either the North or South sets, this upgrade pack includes a bandana gamemat in the color matching your set, plus the extra components needed to make your set a 3- or 4-player game

(Component Upgrade not needed if you own both North and South sets or the Deluxe Edition.)

  • The game will initially be available as a pledge reward through our crowdfunding campaign. Once the campaign has ended, it will be available for purchase on our website and at select outfitters, game stores, and trail organizations.
